These terms govern your use of this website, which Parallex LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("Parallex," "we"), operates. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What this site is

The site describes our work and publishes our writing. It is general information. It is not investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing on it is an offer to sell, or a solicitation to buy, any security. Do not make an investment decision based on what you read here.

No engagement from the site alone

Reading the site, sending us an introduction request, or exchanging emails with us does not make you a client and does not create a duty of confidentiality on our side. We work for you only after we agree a written scope and fee, and every expert on the work signs a non-disclosure agreement. Until then, please do not send us confidential information.

Our writing

Our articles are the author's account and opinion, and we try to cite our sources and say what we could not verify. We make no warranty that anything on the site is complete, current or free of error. Where we describe client work, we leave out the client's name and identifying details. If you think we got something wrong, tell us through the introduction form and we will look.

Our content, and what you may do with it

The text, drawings and design of this site belong to Parallex or the people who made them for us. You may read the site, link to it, and quote short passages with credit and a link back. You may not copy or republish whole articles, or use our content to train a model or build a competing product, without our written permission.

What you agree not to do

Do not use the site unlawfully, try to break or overload it or gain access to anything you are not meant to reach, send us malware, or submit false or misleading information through the form, including information about someone else without their permission.

Other sites

Some pages link to sources and other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or how they treat your information.

No warranty, and limits on our liability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, that come from using the site or relying on its content. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to one hundred US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Work we do for a client is governed by that client's written agreement, not by these terms.

Changes and governing law

We may change these terms by posting a new version with a new date, and your continued use means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Virginia have jurisdiction over any dispute about the site.
